Castle Weddings:

Belvoir Castle in its magical hill top setting has turrets, castellation, towers and flags and is the most romantic place one could choose for their memorable day.  The Castle’s in-house team have years of experience to ensure all wedding guests fully enjoy the atmosphere of this stunning family home.

Lakeside Wedding:

The beautiful lakeside, on the Belvoir Estate, is the perfect place for marquee weddings and with the illuminated castle as the backdrop, a stunning effect is achieved. Chatsworth House

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:42 by sutts274

Chatsworth_west_front_sunseI have recently vistited Chatsworth house which is the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, one of Britain’s best loved historic estates and the heart beat of the Peak District National Park. With famous works of art, a working farmyard, spectacular fountains and the finest shopping and eating, my day was full of enjoyment.  The house is currently in the midst of a landmark Masterplan of restoration and development.

Although Chatsworth house is in Derbyshire it is on the boarder so is very easily accsesible fron Nottingham. However, if you feel that you really want to make it a special event, there are numerous bed and breakfast surrounging the house. These range from Cascades Gardens a luxury B&B that gives you the perfect opportunity to relax and rewind while taking in the venue at you own pace, to Whitton Lodge a spa hotel that can provide quality food and a relaxing atmosphere .

Adrenalin Jungle

Posted in Activities Nottingham at 08:22 by sutts274

The Nottingham Adrenalin Jungle offers a diverse range of outdoor activities including paintball, off-road go karting, 4×4 driving, segway, and archery all from the same location. I am sure you will find something you wish to have a go at. Most of the events are delivered at their own site in Nottinghamshire, using their own equipment and is supervised by Adrenalin Jungle staff.

The Adrenalin Jungle is situated just 12 miles from Nottingham, 6 miles from Mansfield, 9 miles from Newark and 18 miles from Doncaster. Site access is directly off the A614 and is in easy reach of the A1 and the M1. The site has ample parking for cars, mini buses and coaches so finding them and staying for the day is easy.

If you are cosidering a day at the adrenalin jungle why not look to saty at the Gresham hotel which is located by the train station in Nottingham, or even the picturesque Cascades Gardens in Matlock.  Another option would be Whitton Lodge which in terms of ease and location would be the best option in terms of stay.

Belvoir Castle

Posted in Activities Nottingham at 10:42 by sutts274

This is the first in a series of blog posts about tourist attractions in and around Nottingham.

Belvoir Castle has been the ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland for one thousand years and is currently the family home of 11th Duke and Duchess and their five children.

The present Castle in the Vale of Belvoir is the fourth to have stood on the site since Norman times. The existing Castle building was completed in the early 19th century. Other buildings had been damaged during fierce battles or due to major fire.

The Castle offers lots to see and do. It houses outstanding collections of furniture, porcelain, silks, tapestries, French furniture and Italian sculpture. After exploring the castle you will have the opportunity to walk around the woodland gardens which have been carefully planned to ensure plants bloom all year round. There are collections of specialist plants and roses in different areas of the garden which are a must for gardeners.

Guided tours of Belvoir Castle are free and available during the weekdays at 12.30pm and 2.30pm or for pre-booked groups at weekends. The Duke and Duchess of Rutland also own a fantastic bar and restaurant, the Manners Arms

If you are planning a trip to the castle from Nottingham why not stay at the Gresham Hotel there is easy access by car, there are signposts from the A1, A607 and A52. Or, even take advantage of the hotel being near Nottingham station and get the train to Grantham?
